Chamomile Roman (D) Essential Oil - 10 ml
Roman Chamomile, scientifically known as Anthemis Nobilis, produces a light blue essential oil when extracted from its flowers and upper plant parts using steam distillation. With its calming properties, it is renowned for easing irritation, impatience, and offering relief from PMS, menstrual, and menopausal issues. This evergreen herb, known for its fresh apple scent, thrives mainly in France, Belgium, and Eastern Europe.
Roman Chamomile proves excellent for addressing various skin problems such as acne, eczema, rashes, wounds, dermatitis, dry/itchy skin, and allergies. Medicinally, it is valued for alleviating abdominal pain, gall bladder issues, throat infections, and providing relief from allergies, hay fever, and asthma. Diluted solutions of this oil are useful for calming colic, irritability, diarrhea, and teething discomfort in children. In vaporizers, it effectively soothes headaches, nervous complaints, and migraines.
While gentle enough for use with children and babies, it is advisable to consult an expert before administration. The historical significance of chamomile dates back to ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks. Egyptians dedicated it to the sun god, using chamomile oil in embalming practices. Hippocrates, the renowned Greek physician, employed chamomile as a herbal remedy. In mythology, chamomile is one of the nine sacred herbs bestowed by Wodan, the god of the underworld, to mortals for improving their lives.
